This bachelor's thesis examines the media representation of the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict after October 7, 2023 in
commentaries published on the Norwegian news website
Aftenposten.no. The aim of this thesis is to conduct a critical
discourse analysis of selected articles using the methodology
of Norman Fairclough and Teun A. van Dijk. Special attention is
paid to the way in which the media constructs the image of the
main actors and how it reflects the transformation of the
Norwegian position to-wards Israel and Palestine. In this way,
the thesis seeks to reveal the discourse strat-egies with which
the news website shapes the public debate in Norway and
inter-prets the moral and political dimensions of another stage
of the conflict.
