Abstract

Cieľom práce je preskúmať vysokoúrovňový webový framework Django v jazyku Python a poskytnúť ucelený prehľad o jeho schopnostiach, najlepších postupoch a štandardných vzoroch. Súčasťou práce je aj implementácia REST API s použitím frameworku Django, ktorá slúži ako ukážková aplikácia. Táto ukážková aplikácia pomáha objasniť pokročilé koncepty Django a rôzne užitočné nástroje pre vývoj REST API všeobecne.

Abstract

The aim of the thesis is to explore a high-level Python web framework Django and provides insight into the framework's capabilities, best practices, and standard patterns. Part of the thesis is the implementation of the REST API with Django, serving as a demo application. This demo application helps cover Django's advanced concepts alongside various valuable tools for REST API development in general.

Thesis description

The student will design and implement a layered web application which will automatically generate results in sports leagues. The application logic will communicate using the REST API.

The application should allow users to:

  • select their favourite teams and leagues,
  • receive the latest updates about them.

The thesis will contain:

  • state-of-the-art analysis of the domain,
  • application analysis and design using the standard software engineering methodology
  • specification of the application's REST API, so anyone can easily add a new user interface,
  • configuration files for deployment on the Docker/podman platform.

The electronic attachments will contain:

  • application prepared for docker/podman deployment with at least two different user interfaces,
  • analytic diagrams created during development process.
