The diploma thesis ‘‘The skills of students in the teaching of
vocational subjects in the branch of study Gastronomy‘‘ deals
with the topic of required  special skills which are essential
for the school leavers	in practice. At first it defines the
term skill, sorts out and classifies skills from different
points of view. Then there is decribed the process of acquiring
 special skills in the branch of study Gastronomy. There is
compiled the overview of the special skills in the branch of
study  Gastronomy based on  the analysis of Framework
Educational Programme and School Educational Programme.
The findings dealing with the students´ attitudes to special
skills they acquire during their studies and when they take
part in school events are presented in the research part.
