The aim of the text, in general, is pointing out the importance of electoral system settings for the constitution of the party/political system. Thesis reveals determinants (including different number of deputies, different number of electoral districts, or variety of electoral formulas), which significantly affect outputs of electoral system, and presents the analytical tools that are used to identify positive and negative effects of electoral systems. The analytical part of thesis uses the theoretical and methodological basis for proposal of possible changes in the electoral systems design in the Czech Republic (de constitutione ferenda, de lege ferenda).
