The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse prerequisites for tourism in the Russian Federation with the focus on UNESCO monuments. The thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. The first chapter of the theoretical part is focused on the definition of the tourism and his dividing. The second chapter deals with the geography of tourism. The practical part of the thesis analyses particular districts, in which are located monuments registred in World Heritage List UNESCO. It defines their natural, cultural-historical and implementation prerequisites and competitive areas. Using SWOT analysis it determines their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. At the end are stated strategic aimes of the government. The conclusion summarizes main problems, which slow down a development of the tourism in the Russian Federation.
