Course objectives
This subject is conceived as theoretically practical with majority in practical activities. Practice takes place in a specialized classroom. The target is to obtain knowledge and skills important to realization of nursing activities in consequences with holism, rights acceptation and observance of health and safety rules. Subject objectives- student will be able to: - apply obtained knowledge and skills in laboratory conditions, after that in clinical practice; - be aware of health and safety rules; - respect and be aware of nursing practice standards for each diagnostically therapeutic process;
Learning outcomes
The Student will after completing the course able to: - provide basic nursing care for the client in domestic and constitutional environment - carry out activities according to the applicable hygiene and epidemiological principles - ensure the care of the client during diagnostic activities - apply to all forms of drugs - care for the client in the perioperative period.
Syllabus
  • Module subject:
  • - Patient/client safety and protection, stress management;
  • - Ensuring the need for physical activity, the need for self-care and self-sufficiency in health and illness;
  • - Ensuring the need for hygienic care in health and illness;
  • - Provision of nutrition and hydration;
  • - Caring for the stoma patient, during puncture and endoscopy;
  • - Caring for urinary and fecal excretion in health and illness;
  • - Assessment of vital signs;
  • - Care for a woman during administration of all forms of medications and oxygen therapy;
  • - Care for a woman during administration of blood derivatives;
  • - Care for a woman during the collection of biological material;
  • - Care for a woman in the perioperative, intraoperative and postoperative periods

Teaching methods
Audiovisual prezentation, demonstration, discussion, group work – laboratory skills practising.
Assessment methods
Completion: test, otheoretical and practical exam Evaluation of results: - 100% participation in practical lecturec, activity. 75% success rate in continuous tests. 75% success in the final test is a condition for admission to the exam. The exam consists of a theoretical and practical part.
