Course objectives
The students will learn about the basis of psycho hygiene as an interdisciplinary field bordering with psychology, pedagogy and medicine. Nowadays psycho hygiene flows directly into the modern concepts of “psychology of being healthy” that is oriented on projecting the health as a state “full of physical, psychical and social comfort” - from the psychological point of view. During the course, students will deal with the basic categories of psycho hygiene and health psychology, especially with “health”, “stress management”, “tiredness and efficiency”, “neurotic disorders”, “relaxation and relax techniques”, “healthy ways of life”, “healthy personality”.
The main objectives of the course are:

  • The subject of psycho hygiene and its development
  • Psychology of health and its relationship to psychohygiene
  • Health education and prevention
  • Health category, normality and adaptation
  • Efficiency, ability to work, tiredness and monotony
  • Course of efficiency (biorhythm), work on shifts
  • Stress and load, theory and he concept o stress and its management
  • Relaxation and sleep
  • Neurotic disorders (psychological point of view)
  • Concept of resilience and burnout syndrome
  • Social and psychological points of psychohygiene
  • Positive psychology and the theory of optimism
  • Principles of the basic relaxation techniques
  • Possibilities and limited projection of so called healthy life style
  • Concept of “healthy personality”
  • Perspectives of psycho hygiene and psychology
