Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquire basic knowledge of intervention approaches and strategies in the framework of the educational field Mathematics and its applications At the end of the course students should be able teach mathematics in the primary school. Student will understand the methods and forms mathematical education with pupils with dysabilities.
Syllabus
  • Disorders connected to content of teaching matter of mathematics, to understanding of abstract mathematical concepts, to working methods, to non-respecting of pupils individual characteristics. Dyscalculia, content of teaching matter in arithmetic and geometry at 1st level of special schools, introduction to some issues aiding understanding of mathematical concept. Analysis of the other causes of the problems of pupils in mathematics. Communication in mathematics. Building a number of disciplines and problems of pupils in understanding the concept of number, his registration, the reading, the arrangement of the set of natural numbers. The inference of the individual operations with numbers natural and some numbers to rational. Problems in the field of understanding of individual operations, pamětných communications, written algorithms. Word and application tasks, methodical series of tasks to the specific capabilities of the pupils in their solution. Units of measure, their conversions, specific aids to the understanding of the subject matter.
