Course objectives
The aim of this course is to deepen one´s theoretical knowledge and practical skills of Snoezelen applied in the goup of individuals with health impairment. Student should know and understand methods of work realised in snoezelen as a part of educational process and basic techniques of stimulation to develop pupils with severe disabilities.
Learning outcomes
Outcomes: - knowledge of Snoezelen room equipment - purpose of the particular aids - methods ofwork in Snoezelen as the part of the educational process - methods of stimulation applied in the group of pupils with health impairment

  • 1. Brief description, history of snoezelen 2. Aim group, outcomes, impact 3. Tools and aids to equip snoezelen 4. Equipment and aids (soft furniture, room colour) 5. Organisation of snoezelen, documentation 6. Methodological units, principles 7. Concept of basal stimulation 8. Positioning 9. Support of vestibular perception 10. Snoezelen as a support of education 11. Snoezelen as a free time activity

Course will be accredited after presenting of the seminar work (2-3 pages). Seminar work will include one of the following topic: Snoezelen and pupil with physical disability Reflexion essay on topic snoezelen Research (books, Journals) Public inquiry (more info by the lecturer) Essay with the topic: snoezelen Active participation in lectures, essay For students psychopaedia: snoezelen application for a pupils with intellectual disabilities
