- Course objectives
- The main goal of the subject is to develop the intercultural and sociocultural competence of students. The students gain the knowledge about a current social topic in German speaking countries from the historical, cultural-political, sociological, psychological or philosophical point of view (e.g. refugee crisis, religious tolerance, gender freedom, homosexuality etc.)
- Learning outcomes
- - raised awareness of responsibility when teaching culture studies - development of intercultural competence - knowledge gain about a socio-cultural phenomenon in the german speaking countries (politics, history, society, psychology, philosophy,...)
- Syllabus
- 1. Goals and requirements for getting credit; choice of the topic 2. historical overview & Perspective of own approach to the topic (history, politology, sociology, psychology); sources and strategies of searching for relevant information 3. Reflection of partial results and strategies 4. Presentation of the topic from the point of view of particular disciplines and following discussion 5. Evaluation of the seminar, self-evaluation of students
