Course objectives
The main aim of the subject is to develop students' intercultural, socio-cultural and discourse skills. Students acquire new knowledge about a social phenomenon of their choice in German-speaking countries from a historical, cultural-political, sociological, psychological or philosophical perspective (e.g. religious tolerance, gender freedom, homosexuality, etc.).
Learning outcomes
- raised awareness of responsibility when teaching culture studies
- improvement of discourse competence
- development of intercultural competence
-Knowledge of the different approaches to the teaching of foreign languages and application of these approaches to their own didactic approaches
- knowledge gain about a socio-cultural phenomenon in the german speaking countries (politics, history, society, psychology, philosophy,...)
Syllabus
  • 1. objectives and requirements for the Zapocet are defined, the topic is chosen together
  • 2. historical overview of the subject & choice of perspectives for own work on the topic (history, political science, sociology, psychology); sources and tips for research are offered
  • 3. familiarisation with and reflection on "diskursive Landeskunde"
  • 4. critically examine already didacticised material
  • 5. presentation of the topic from the perspective of individual disciplines and subsequent discussion
  • 6. evaluation of the seminar, self-evaluation of the students
