Course objectives
The aim of the course is to explain the basics of qualitative methodology with a focus on the use of case studies in an experiential and interactive way.
Learning outcomes
Learners will be able to explain the basic concepts and principles of qualitative research, become familiar with various techniques of qualitative data analysis including coding, learn how to interpret qualitative research results and draw understandable and relevant conclusions with implications for practical use in educational practice. Learners will be able to write an effective undergraduate thesis in accordance with academic standards and with an emphasis on accuracy, logic and coherence. They will learn to critically evaluate qualitative research papers and reflect on their own research process and decisions. They will become familiar with the ethical principles and challenges associated with qualitative research and be able to apply these principles to their research projects.
