Course objectives
Diagnostic domains of pupils with hearing impairment Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the system of counseling: school counseling and school counseling Facilities: special pedagogical centers, pedagogical and psychological counseling centers. Staffing, standards Activities. Counseling for parents and children with early-stage disabilities, early intervention, early care centers; Timely intervention. Health consultancy, logopedic outpatient clinics. Legislative action on counseling. Diagnostic domains of pupils with impaired communication ability Objective of the course in terms of learning outcomes and competences The aim of the course is to acquaint students with specifics of diagnostics of impaired communication skills of children and pupils with impaired communication ability, organization of activities of advisory facilities, possibilities of interdisciplinary Cooperation within a comprehensive diagnostic process, as well as with related legislative measures.
Learning outcomes
Expected outcomes:  The student is oriented in the legislative measures related to the provision of counseling services in schools and school counseling facilities;  knows staffing, activities and services carried out in these facilities;  knows procedures for the orientation analysis of communication skills / hearing impairment.
Syllabus
  • Main themes (syllabus) - hearing impairment:  Team cooperation in complex diagnostic examination of auditory defects and interdisciplinary relations.  The importance of hearing, the anatomical structure of the ear; Etiology of hearing impairment, factors that negatively affect development Hearing analyzer. Classification of hearing defects and disorders according to age and period of speech fixation. Personality Specifics An individual with hearing impairment, psychological traits of a person with a hearing disability.  Hearing methods, objective and subjective auditory tests, screening examinations. Correction Auditory defects and the use of hearing aids.  Speech ontogenesis, stages of speech development in people with hearing impairment; Speech, voice and articulation of hearing impaired people Disability.  Definition of a counseling system for individuals with special educational needs in the Czech Republic and the present Legislative conditions for the provision of advisory services. Early Care Centers for Hearing Impaired - Refill Activities and staffing. Special pedagogical centers for the hearing impaired - activities And staffing.  Analysis of selected case studies of hearing impaired or auditory and other associates Disability. Main topics (curriculum) - NKS:  Communication, impaired communication ability and its role in education; Characteristic of distorted forms Communication skills - special educational needs, model of speech therapy.  Diagnostic domain - phonetic-phonological plane (specifics, diagnostic tools).  Diagnostic domain - morphological-syntactical plane (specifics, diagnostic tools).  Diagnostic domain - lexical-semantic plane; Understanding (specifics, diagnostic tools).  Diagnostic domain - pragmatic plane (specifics, diagnostic tools).  Diagnostic domain - reading, writing, motoring, graphing (specifics, diagnostic tools).  Diagnostic domain - auditory and visual perception, orientation, memory and attention (specifics, Diagnostic tools).

Teaching methods
Active student participation - class discussion; Exercises and games on motor development and visual perception as a preparation for Development of visual-motor communication. Theoretical preparation, self-study, passing of intermediate tasks during the semester.
Assessment methods
Case study of pupils with impaired communication ability with respect to the analysis of disturbed communication Ability and its role in pupil education. Case study of an individual with hearing impairment at pre-school or school age reflecting the level Achieved communication skills of an individual Written exam (success rate - 70%) and oral exam.
