Předmět se týká francouzské literatury od jejích počátků až do Francouzské revoluce. Přednáška bude propojena se seminární formou práce tam, kde bude třeba se opřít o četbu a interpretaci vybraných literárních textů a dokumentů. Zvláštní pozornost bude věnována zejména několika vybraným problémovým celkům. 1. Dvorská lyrika a epika, trubadúrská tradice. 2. La Pléiade a nový kulturní ideál, Du Bellay, Ronsard, lyonská škola.
