Course objectives
Basic geographic, political, social and economic characteristics of the contemporary Croatia and Bosnia and Hercegovina. On successful completion of the course student will acquire necessary knowledge and arguing skill on the the life and institutions of these countries, their cultural specifics as well as political and social development of Croatia and Bosnia and Hercegovina since the breakup of Yugoslavia to the present day.

  • Political and social development of Croatia and Bosnia and Hercegovina (BiH) since the breakup of Yugoslavia to the present day; geography of Croatia and BiH; economy of Croatia and BiH; population of Croatia and BiH – ethnic composition, religious affinity, major cities and towns; historical regions of Croatia and BiH; administrative division of Croatia and BiH; political scene in Croatia and Bosnia and Hercegovina; film, sport and (pop)cultural specifics of contemporary Croatia and BiH.

Prerequisites for granting the credit: regular attendance and thorough home preparation on weekly basis, participation in class discussion; oral and written presentation of a region in Croatia or BiH. Written test.
