Course objectives
The course focuses on the scenographer and theorist of scenography Miroslav Kouřil in the context of his work at the Laboratory of Scenography, later Institute of Scenography. The heuristic part of the seminar takes place in the National Archive. Through three minor projects, their revisions and group discussions, students will acquire methods of archival work and understand Miroslav Kouřil's organizational and research activities as well as the work of the Institute of Scenography in the historical and political context. Seminars will usually take place once in two weeks for students to have enough time to complete their minor projects. Students will submit their completed projects in advance. All requirements will be announced in the introductory class.
