Course objectives
Historical survey of plant systematics - taxon, species, origin and principles of nomenclature. Phylogenic approach - mechanisms of species development. Higher plants. Rhyniophyta. Bryophyta - Marchantiopsida, Bryopsida. Lycopodiophyta - Lycopodiopsida, Selaginellopsida, Isoëtopsida. Psilotophyta. Equisetophyta. Polypodiophyta - Ophioglossidae, Polypodiidae, Marsileidae, Salviniidae. Lyginodendrophyta. Cycadophyta - Cycadopsida, Cycadeideopsida. Cordaitophyta. Pinophyta - Gingkoopsida, Pinopsida. Gnetophyta - Gnetidae, Ephedridae, Welwitschiidae. Magnoliophyta - Magnoliopsida (selected orders and families), Liliopsida (selected orders and families). Survey of plant evolution in geological history. Geographical aspects of World's and Central European flora and vegetation.
