Course objectives
Course of physical chemistry deals with following topics: Kinetic theory of perfect gases. Introduction to irreversible thermodynamics. Transport processes in gases and fluids: diffusion, conduction of heat, ion transport. Chemical dynamics. Theory of reaction rates. Properties of macromolecules and phase interfaces. Coloids, adsorption. Molecular interpretation of observed phenomena is emphasized. The aim of course is to present basic knowledge, which make it possible to solve practical problems in the field of irreversible thermodynamics and chemical dynamics.
