Course objectives
The course introduce in basic principes of optical methods in geology sciences: theoretical optical characteristic, work with polarised and unpolarised light, preparing of samples and identification of basic minerals.
Syllabus
  • 1. property of light, polarised light 2. observation in polarised light, microscope technique 3. principle of the work with biological microscop 4. preparation of geological samples 5. measuring of objects, displaying methods 6. determination of minerals (quartz, feldspats, micas, olivine, pyroxenes and amphiboles)
