Course objectives
At the end of this exercise a student will be able to apply gained knowledge and to perfect orient himself in problems of refractive errors and in all circumstances which are connected with it. The students practically verify gained information by practices in examination room and optical laboratory in Medical Faculty Brno and in ophthalmologic departments in clinics. The main goal is practical interpretation of whole information of refractive errors branch and all circumstances, which are connected with methodology of refractive errors examination and their correction.
Syllabus
  • Anomalies of accomodation
  • Accomodation: excessive accomodation, spasm, insufficiency, slackness and paralysis of accomodation and cycloplegia
  • Anomalies of convergence.
  • Insufficiency, excess of convergence
  • Muscular balance. Binocular vision.
  • Ortophoria – characteristics, binocular vision. Heterophoria – etiology, kinds, symptoms and therapy. Heterotrophia – etiology, vision in strabism, kinds and therapy. Amblyopia.
  • Progression of binocular vision. Stereoscopic vision.
  • Vision determination, glasses, ophthalmoscopy
  • Importance of the oculistic examination
  • Vision determination for near and far distance.
  • Direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy. Skiascopy.
