Course objectives
At the end of the lecture collection a student will be able to orient himself in complete list of all pathologic processes, errors and diseases proceeded in eye. The student formulates eye disease and errors manifestations not only according to particular structures of organs but according to function of vision organs and whole organism.
Syllabus
  • disorders of the lens, abnormalities of lens shape and position, cataracts – congenital, senile , complicata , cataract surgery , operative complications , correction of postoperative refraction defect
  • the glaucomas ,examination techniques, primary open- angle glaucoma, primary angle -closer glaucoma.
  • special forms of open-angle glaucoma , secondary glaucomas , congenital glaucomas, treatment.
  • refractive defects , myopia, hypermetropia
  • refractive defects II: astigmatism, presbiopia , accommodation, convergency, disorders and treatment.
  • neuro-ophthalmology: disorders of visual pathways , subjective and objective symptoms, optic neuritis, papilloedema.
  • disorders of the chiasm, disorders of retrochiasmal visual pathways.
  • disorders of the pupil, nystagmus.
  • strabismus, etiology, clinical features, apparent and latent squint.
  • physiology and pathology of binocular vision, squint paralytic.
  • disorders of the orbit, orbital inflammatory diseases, endocrinous orbithopathy.
  • tumours and trauma of the orbit.
  • traumatology in ophthalmology, corneal and conjunctival foreign body, penetrating eye injury, contusion of eye and surrounding structures.
  • termal and chemical burns to the eye and ocular adnexa, first aid, treatment, complications.
