Course objectives
The students will acquire a variety of practical skills that are essential for modern translators and learn the basics of working with advanced technologies, especially machine translation and its use in a CAT tool environment. The lecturers will guide them through the possibilities of integrating IT and artificial intelligence into the working procedures of a qualified translator. In the practical part of the course, they will train their reflexes, memory and quickness of thinking, together with the use of computer technology. The students will undertake a real translation project in small groups as a final requirement to complete the course.

Teaching methods
Teoretická příprava + praktická cvičení. Předmět se vyučuje šestkrát za semestr, vždy ve dvou dvouhodinových blocích. Termíny 2022: 21. září, 5. a 19. října, 2. a 23. listopadu, 7. prosince.
Assessment methods
Zápočet udělovaný na základě práce v kurzu a závěrečného projektu.
