CJQB02 Lexical-Stylistic Exercises 1 && SOUHLAS
Applicants enrol in courses of Czech for foreigners via an application form submitted at the Department of Czech for Foreigners (not via the MU Information System).
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
During the seminar students will practise: - lexical and stylistic exercises (synonyms, homonyms, opposities) - acticive use of lexic of tought conversational topics - intepretation of text (listened to and written) - essays on given topics.
Syllabus
  • During the seminar students will practise and improve their knowledge and information gained in CJQB02. 1/ During the work with texts the emphasis is put not only on lexical part, but also on stylistic stratification of the literary Czech language and non-literary forms (imaginative literature) and terminology (specialistic texts). 2/ Phraseology – fixed phrases and metaphorical meaning; comparitions; proverbs; fixed phrases with substantives and adjectives; connections of verbs and substantives; fixed phrases; big and small measure; synonyms and antonyms.

Teaching methods
Theoretical explanations during the course will be supplemented by practical exercises. Students will work with a text and write essays on given topics.
Assessment methods
Final written test. Besides the test, the following rules must be observed: 1/ In order to successfully finish the course, student's participation in the course must be at least 75 %. If student's participation drops below 75 %, he will not be allowed to write the final test. 2/ The students fullfils all tasks given by the teacher (homeworks, presentations etc.) Unpreparedness is judged as absence. 3/ Students must not switch study groups, unless the Head of Department of Czech for Foreigners explicitly approved it.
