Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to interpret and analyse a work of art and/or literature using different interpretative approaches and methods.
Syllabus
  • - Speech, language, fine arts, aesthetics, philosophy, the purpose of interpretation
  • - Speech (monologue, dialogue), text, literary work, drama, film, plastic arts and painting
  • - Genre and interpretation; translation
  • - Author – production – reader
  • - Point of view, understanding
  • - Philosophical and psychological moments of interpretation
  • - Brief summary of hermeneutical conceptions
  • Seminars:
  • - Fairy tale: Němcová, Čapek, Mikulka
  • - Parable: Kafka, Buber, gospels
  • - Short story: Böll, Kishon, Saki
