Course objectives
The study of human body tissues connected with the study of its embryonic development. The aim of this course is to acquaint the students of anthropology with the structure of the human body tissues at the microscopic level and to familiarize them with their development. The specificity of the subject is its focus on the needs of anthropologists who will apply their knowledge in further studies and in anthropological practice.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, the students should be able to understand the basic classification of human body tissues and their organization. They should be able to navigate at different levels of resolution - at the cellular level, the students should have sufficient knowledge of the basic characteristics of cellular structures and ultrastructures, the overall arrangement of the cell, and be familiar with the basic types of human body cells. At the tissue level, they will be able to orient themselves in the basic characterization of human body tissues; in more detail, they will be able to describe the characteristics of connective tissues, dental hard tissues, muscle tissue, skin and skin derivatives. The students will also have a deeper understanding of the genesis of human germ cells and the neurohumoral regulation of the human reproductive cycle. They will be able to characterize the various stages of prenatal human development.
