Course objectives
After the course students are able to understant the principles of sediment sampling, sampling of water and aquatic biota. We recognise a discuss the fecal and trophic pollution and bioindication of this pollution. The course is realised as field excursion and all activity is realised with modern devices for sampling and measuring the water quality
Syllabus
  • 1. Practical (terrain) excursion to lotic and lentic ecosytems with various level of antropogenic effects.2. Characterization of surrounding and aquatic environment, mapping, protocols, estimation of human effects. 3. Sampling (water, sediments), transport and storage, suggestion of testing scheme (onespecies tests, multispecies tests, mesocosms). 4. Porotocols for locality caracterization, sampling and testing. 5. Model project: new chemical compound introduced into the environment. 6. Measurement of oxygen, pH, transparency temperature and other parameters in water directly in the field.
