Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquire basic musical-movement elements and to use kinaestetic activities within inter-curricular links; also to introduce students to the creative activities – such as improvisation, elements of elemenatry composition; activities of perception – aural and listening. Particular attention is made to learn basic means of musical expression that help to understand communication through music including musical form and a selection of songs suitable for specific age groups.
Learning outcomes
Student: he / she focuses on the issue of elementary creative musical activities; recognizes types of improvisation and can apply them in practice, as well as elements of elementary composition. They acquire music listening skills; they are able to use them in practice while working with songs or listening to compositions; he/she are able to use basic musical expressions and can use them while working with songs, in connection with movement, dance components, playing musical instruments and/or listening to music.
Syllabus
  • 1. Music and kinaestetic education: elementary movement elements, dance training. 2. Creative activities: Improvisation - rhythmical, melodic and movement to the music; elements of elementary composition. 3. Perceptual activities: Aural and listening activities. 4. Means of expression of music: rhythm, tempo, dynamics, melody, harmony and timbre. 5. Stories set to music. 6. Activities based on Music theory.

Teaching methods
Theoretical and practical preparation: declamation, singing – monophonic and polyphonic song, canon – accompaniment them on musical instruments for children; conducting, moving / dancing, listening to music etc. Playing the piano and soprano recorder. Students should make their teaching portfolio for Music activities.
Assessment methods
Type of teaching: seminar Completion: examination a) For the final examination, students will show their theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired in the Didactics of Music 1 to 2. The final examination will have the theoretical part, and there will also be a practical part (such as singing, conducting, playing the piano and recorder). b) singing, playing the piano 10 songs for Years 4 and 5 of Primary School(2 of them in polyphonic arrangement and one round – conducting); for two songs, prepare own methodology of a dancing element. c) Mastering the basics of playing the soprano recorder (3 folk songs). d) Creation of a teaching portfolio for Music. e) A minimum of 80% active participation in seminars.
