Course objectives
Students will acquire theoretical knowledge in the field of personality and education of people with mental disabilities. They will acquire knowledge regarding problems of communication and communication disorder specifics of ontogenesis persons with mental disabilities. Will have knowledge regarding the speech characteristics of persons with mental disabilities depending on the degree, the type and form of mental retardation. Education of persons with mild mental disabilities, basic terms. Students are able to navigate the issue of development of speech and language skills for students with learning disabilities in terms of language levels.
Syllabus
  • Legislation on the issue of education of pupils with mild mental disabilities. Range of pupils with mild mental disabilities (specifics of personality, cognitive processes, variability developmental traits). Advisory system that provides services for children and students with mild mental disabilities. Preschool education. Framework educational program for preschool education. Elementary School. Framework educational program for basic education. Special educational diagnostics with a focus on people with mental disabilities. Didactic principles, methods, forms and means of education of pupils with mild mental disabilities. Therapies position in education of pupils with mild mental disabilities. School and lifelong education for people with mild mental. Job opportunities for persons with mild mental disabilities. Conception of speech therapy, speech therapy positions in   sciences.   Cooperation with other disciplines. The system of providing speech therapy in   CR. Valid legislation in   speech intervention. Communication, the importance of communication in human life  . Characteristics of verbal and nonverbal communication. Communication process, communication disorder. Specifics of the development of speech and language abilities of children with mental disabilities  . Influence degree, form and type MR the development of speech and language skills. Anatomy and physiology of speech organs (respiratory tract, phonation, articulation). innervation of orofacial muscle. Phonetics, the subject of research Phonetics, Phonetic methodology - the basic elements of speech, voice division.   Voices in the Czech language, physiological formation of vowels and consonants. Impaired speech development, speech therapy at     students with language impairment, possibilities of influence development of speech and language skills. Dyslalia - etiology, symptoms, classification. Access policies in removing dyslalia. The course of elimination dyslalia. Development of phonetic-phonological speech at     students with mental disabilities (breathing, phonation exercises auditory perception and phonemic differentiation, motoric speech organs, drawing process voice, Prosodic speech rhythm).

Education of individuals with mild intellectual disability final written test (it is necessary to successfully cope with 70% of correct answers) Speech therapy : oral exam
