Course objectives
The main objectives of the course is to assume the basic information about people with physical disabilities, the possibilitis of their education, their support and stimulation.
Learning outcomes
o orient oneself in the field of care and support for people with physical disabilities, to know the theoretical foundations of the field. To orient oneself in the field of education of pupils with physical disabilities. Control support options.
Syllabus
  • mpact of disability on the life of an individual with a physical disability (biological, psychological and social impacts of disability). The influence of disability on the development of the individual. Special pedagogical diagnostics. School maturity (definition, specifics in pupils with physical disabilities, diagnostics). Specifics of education of pupils with physical disabilities (working environment, compensatory and didactic aids, special forms and methods of work – re-education, compensation, support measures). Specifics of support for children/pupils with physical disabilities. Specifics of support in terms of age and degree of disability (assistance, intervention, education). Professional training and employment. Symptomatic speech disorders in children with cerebral palsy, impaired communication ability of children with cerebral palsy, intervention options. Alternative and augmentative communication, use, importance for upbringing and education in individuals with physical disabilities. Use of computers by people with physical disabilities. Children and pupils with chronic illness or health disadvantage, education of pupils at school at hospital or in schools at medical facilities. Options intervene. Analysis of case studies. ICF and ICD. Sources of support and interdisciplinary cooperation. Possibilities of leisure activities of individuals with physical disabilities. Therapy in special pedagogical care, the roles and tasks of a special educator.
