Course objectives
Lectures are aimed at explanantion of the theory and basic orientation in environmental legislaltion. At the end of this course the student will be able to understand the essence and mission of the object of Environmental Law (general and special part), to explain its functions, to argue its justness. The student will be able to work with the sources of Environmental Law (general and special part). The student will be able to create the legal view for the concrete cases, to assign the competent authority and formulate the appropriate filling.

  • Constitutional bases of the Environment Law; the right to favourable environment; the right to environmental information Subjects of the Environmental Law I – organization and forms of public administration in the environmental field Subjects of the Environmental Law II – public participation in environmental protection Managing conflicts of interest in the area I – Environmental Impact Assessment Managing conflicts of interest in the area II – Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Managing conflicts of interest in the area III – Environmental protection in the process according to the Building Act Relationships of liability in the Environmental Law – the system of liability relations in the Environmental Law, administrative law liability, criminal liability Relationships of liability in the Environmental Law – civil liability, liability for environmental damage Economic instruments for environmental protection Property rights issues and environmental protection Legal means of solving incidents with environmental impacts (legal regulation of the risks associated with natural disasters and industrial accidents) Protection of public health from noise and other negative influences Free theme.

Teaching methods
Lectures according to given syllabus.An analytical look at the contemporary legislation and the judicial acts connected therewith and the application relating to the subject to be lectured. Power point presentations will be used and students will be given an interactive approach during the lecture. Hence students will be given a chance to ask questions regarding to the subject of the lecture. E-learning.
Assessment methods
The exam is combined: the first part is a written test with a clause-type example and questions related to the example.The time limit for completing the answer sheet is 50 minutes. This limit is increased by the requested amount (usually to 63, 67 or 75 minutes) in case of specific demands in the course. If the student passes the test (min. 10 points out of 20), he/she will proceed to the oral part. The oral part of the examination consists of demonstrating knowledge of a drawn topic. The overall grade is based on the results of both the written and oral parts. If one of the parts is graded F, the overall result of the exam is F - and it is necessary to retake the entire exam. Uncommented legislation may be used during the written part of the examination, but not during the preparation for the oral part. The examination is conducted in a face-to-face format (online answer sheet and in-person oral examination). The written part is taken on a laptop. The regulations can be used in electronic or printed form. In case of impossibility to take the exam in person (e.g. due to a pandemic or natural disaster), the entire exam is transferred to the distance form (online answer sheet and oral examination via MS Teams).

Assessment methods
In the case of full-time examination (in the presence at the faculty), the examination is combined: a written test, in the case of passing it, the student proceeds to the oral part. In the written part, the student solves an example of the final type and answers questions related to the example. During the oral exam, the student demonstrates his knowledge of the selected topic. The evaluation is performed by the teacher on the basis of the correctness and completeness of the answers. The overall assessment is performed by the examiner on the basis of the results in written and oral part. If one of the parts is graded F, the overall result of the exam is F. During the written part of the exam (full-time and distance), texts of legal regulations may be used. During the oral part of the exam, the use of any texts is excluded.

Managing conflicts of interest in the area I – Environmental protection in the process according to the Building Act. Managing conflicts of interest in the area II – Environmental Impact Assessment Managing conflicts of interests III - protection of cultural heritage. Managing conflict of interests IV - protection of the environment in procedures regarding exploitation of mineral resources. Managing conflict of interests V - protection of public health from noise and other negative influences. Lectures according to given syllabus.An analytical look at the contemporary legislation and the judicial acts connected therewith and the application relating to the subject to be lectured. Power point presentations will be used and students will be given an interactive approach during the lecture. Hence students will be given a chance to ask questions regarding to the subject of the lecture. E-learning.
Assessment methods
In the case of full-time examination (in the presence at the faculty), the examination is combined: a written test, in the case of passing it, the student proceeds to the oral part. In the written part, the student solves an example of the final type and answers questions related to the example. During the oral exam, the student demonstrates his knowledge of the selected topic. The evaluation is performed by the teacher on the basis of the correctness and completeness of the answers. The overall assessment is performed by the examiner on the basis of the results in written and oral part. If one of the parts is graded F, the overall result of the exam is F. In the case of full-distance examinations, the exam is written: the student solves an example of the final type and answers questions related to the example, and answers test questions with several answers. It is also possible to combine distance written test, in the case of passing it, the student proceeds to the oral part, which takes place in person. At the end of this course the student will be able to understand the essence and mission of the object of Environmental Law (general and special part), to explain its functions, to argue its justness. The student will be able to work with the sources of Environmental Law (general and special part). The student will be able to create the legal view for the concrete cases, to assign the competent authority and formulate the appropriate filling.

It is not allowed to use legal enactments in preparation for oral exam.

Lectures according to given syllabus.An analytical look at the contemporary legislation and the judicial acts connected therewith and the application relating to the subject to be lectured. Power point presentations will be used and students will be given an interactive approach during the lecture. Hence students will be given a chance to ask questions regarding to the subject of the lecture.
Assessment methods
The exam will be combined. Written test: Model example case – solving theoretical and practical issues which are connected with the case. Student needs to have at least 50% of that task correct so that they would pass the test. Oral exam: Student has to prove his or her knowledge of the topic they selected by lot. The total classification: Is made by the examiner on the ground of the score attained in both the written and oral exams. If one part is evaluated F, the final result is F. It is not allowed to use legal enactments in preparation for oral exam.

At the end of this course the student will be able to understand the essence and mission of the object of Environmental Law (general and special part), to explain its functions, to argue its justness. The student will be able to work with the sources of Environmental Law (general and special part). The student will be able to create the legal view for the concrete cases, to assign the competent authority and formulate the appropriate filling.

Lectures according to given syllabus.An analytical look at the contemporary legislation and the judicial acts connected therewith and the application relating to the subject to be lectured. Power point presentations will be used and students will be given an interactive approach during the lecture. Hence students will be given a chance to ask questions regarding to the subject of the lecture.
Assessment methods
The exam will be combined. Written test: Model example case – solving theoretical and practical issues which are connected with the case. Student needs to have at least 50% of that task correct so that they would pass the test. Oral exam: Student has to prove his or her knowledge of the topic they selected by lot. The total classification: Is made by the examiner on the ground of the score attained in both the written and oral exams. If one part is evaluated F, the final result is F. It is not allowed to use legal enactments in preparation for oral exam.

At the end of this course the student will be able to understand the essence and mission of the object of Environmental Law (general and special part), to explain its functions, to argue its justness. The student will be able to work with the sources of Environmental Law (general and special part). The student will be able to create the legal view for the concrete cases, to assign the competent authority and formulate the appropriate filling.
