Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: understand and explain practical usage of basic immunological techniques; work with information on practical usage of basic immunological techniques; create ... ; make reasoned decisions about basic immunological techniques; make deductions based on acquired knowledge of basic immunological techniques; interpret methodology used in immunology research;
Syllabus
  • 1. Histology of immune organs 2. Cells involved in the immune system 3. Determination of anti-microbial activity: lysosyme by method of radial diffusion 4. Phagocyte activity: test of ingestion of MSH particles 5. Phagocyte activity: chemiluminiscent determination 6. Lymphocyte isolation: method of gradient sedimentation 7. Chemiluminiscent method in evaluation od complement activity 8. Determination of antibodies: immuno-diffusion and turbidimetry 9. Proteins in blood serum: immunophoresis 11. Hemocytes: determination of anti-microbial activity
