- Cíl: Rozvinout u studentů akademické dovednosti nezbytné ke studiu cizojazyčné odborné literatury, což umožní studentům přístup k nejnovějším poznatkům v jejich oboru.

- Obecné cíle: 1. rozvinout čtecí dovednosti tak, aby studenti dovedli pracovat s cizojazyčným autentickým odborným textem 2. rozvinout mluvní dovednosti tak, aby studenti dovedli komunikovat v běžných životních situacích 3. rozvinout poslechové dovednosti tak, aby studenti rozuměli slyšenému textu z oblastí každodenního života 4. rozvinout dovednost psát tak, aby studenti dovedli sestavit žánry (typy textů) potřebné pro jejich budoucí praxi 5. zopakovat a prohloubit znalost gramatiky v nových kontextech Obecné úkoly: 1) Studenti se naučí: * zběžně prohlédnout text a pochopit jeho celkový význam (skimming) * vyhledat v textu specifické informace (scanning), * formulovat hlavní myšlenku textu * rozlišit obecná tvrzení a podpůrné argumenty * rozlišit deduktivní a induktivní myšlenkové postupy * rozlišit fakta a názory * uvědomit si vztahy mezi myšlenkami v textu * rozlišit podstatné informace od nepodstatných * usuzovat, dovozovat z textu * shrnovat podstatné informace 2) jak sdělit informace o sobě, o svém studiu a univerzitě, jak definovat, klasifikovat a srovnávat 3) jak pochopit celkový význam slyšeného i specifickou informaci 4) jak napsat životopis, vyplnit formulář žádosti 5) upevní si znalost gramatiky Hodnocení: 1 písemný zápočtový test
