Course objectives
Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

  • Declination of adjectives with definite article; werden
  • Relative clauses, Relative pronouns, Reflexive verbs
  • Passive in past tense, entwerden...oder
  • Compounds, Declination of substantives without article, Undefinite pronouns: einer, eine, eins; welche
  • Passive in past tense
  • Main and subordinate clause: trotzdem, obwohl; Subordinate clauses with damit and um..zu
Assessment methods
At the end of the course students take a written credit test. Regular particiaption, completion of course assignments and passing the final credit test is required.
