Course objectives
The aim of this course is improve academic writing of students of doctoral studies and novice researchers at Masaryk University.
Syllabus
  • The course consists of online tutorials in English language.
  • The participants of the course produce an academic text or an extract from such a text (2,000 words max.).
  • Their texts will be reviewed by a UK text analyst whose task is to produce formative feedback.
  • In case of a need of further clarification, explanation or discussion, some contact between the course participant and the text reviewer will be arranged.
Teaching methods
Texts to be reviewed must include: 1) name of the author and their “učo” 2) title of the text 3) type of the text ( for example: abstract, the methodology section of a journal article; a part of a chapter; etc.)
