- Course objectives
- Czech for hearing impaired student is a two-year (four-semester) course that aims at gradual improvement of the hearing impaired students’ communicative skills in the Czech language (Czech for hearing impaired students I and II) and at development of the student’s skills to work with academic texts and to create them independently (Czech for hearing impaired students III and IV). Reading comprehension is particularly stressed. In this course the students will get acquainted with the Czech codification literature, will learn to work with such materials and to look up information in them. A very important part of the course is also vocabulary development which is particularly important for coping with the general requirements of university studies, e.g. communication with teachers and orientation in the system of studies.
