Course objectives
The main goal of the course is to learn and practice the basics of the international sign and further expand communication skills in this language.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student should: have mastered a vocabulary of approximately 400 characters, master basic communication in the international sign system and subsequently topics related to the work position (common everyday communication situations, the field of education, university studies, scientific and research work, etc.), be able to ask and answer questions on the above topics.
Syllabus
  • - mastering the basics of communication in the international sign system - expansion of the character pool - practicing various topics of common everyday situations in the field of education -translation and work with videos in the international sign system
Teaching methods
Practical exercises, conversation.
Assessment methods
Credit is awarded for class participation (approx. 75%) and a final short interview (2-3 minutes) in international sign system.

The course is taught each semester.
Teacher's information
The course is intended for active users of (Czech) sign language. Schedule information: classes will take place in a face-to-face format (unless circumstances require a different schedule) every Thursday at 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. in the classroom of the Teiresisás Centre (Komenského nám. 2). In the case of online classes, connection via webcam and activity are required (in case of non-connection, it is assessed as non-participation).
