Course objectives
The course is explicitly discussion-based; the main aim is to develop students' independent analytical and critical thinking in the field of economic policy. The content of the course is not explicitly predetermined - the topics discussed reflect current developments in the Czech, Slovak, European and world economy.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- independently search for information from the field of economic policy and evaluate its relevance;
- identify domestic and foreign economic trends and deduce their social consequences;
- to identify factors that influence the economic development of the national economy as a whole and in individual sectors;
- propose solutions to economic problems and evaluate the effectiveness of alternative measures.

  • Current problems of the Czech, Slovak, European and world economy; its analysis and critical reflection of real and alternative solutions.

Teaching methods
The seminar is a discussion seminar. Students independently follow economic and political events, independently search for sources of information and prepare short presentations on selected issues. During the seminar, they discuss, evaluate and find solutions to the assigned problems. The teacher acts as a moderator of the discussion.
Assessment methods
The course is completed with credit. The condition for granting credit is active participation in seminars and ongoing completion of assigned tasks.
