Course objectives
Special Mathematics (specialisation Non-profit Organisations) (SDSM) This course introduces the basics of advanced mathematics and emphasis is placed on explanation of such topics as elementary functions, equations, progressions and principles of differential calculus. Students should reach such a level of knowledge that is a prerequisite for attending and mastering further courses - both mathematically oriented subsequent courses and economic courses. A separate section surveys the principal mathematical models of financial mathematics and actuarial theory. More practical issues are stressed here - the student acquires skills in the area of simple and compound interest calculations, savings and pensions or insurance of persons. In the seminars, students are required to solve given types of tasks independently. Examination: written.
