Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to understand the operation of economic zones, economic and political, institutional and legal framework of the internal market in the European Union.

At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- understand the functioning of the EU single market;
- describe problems in individual markets, the EU,
- identify and analyze the implications for the entire institutional architecture of the EU and its policies,
- assess the competence of institutional actors of the EU single market and recommend tools for adaptation to the EU market .
Syllabus
  • Setting of the individual segments of Single European Market(SEM) in the Contract about European Community
  • Function and problem of SME on the agrarian market
  • Function and problem of SME on the industrial market
  • Characteristic of the relationship between SEM and policy of economic competition of EU
  • Characteristic of the relationship between SEM and free movement of persons on the internal market of EU
  • History and rules of Schengen contract and its role in the realization of free movement of persons on the internal market of EU
  • Competence of the European Commission, its role at the legal formation of SEM
  • Competence of the European Parliament and its role at codetermination about legislature of SEM
  • Competence of the Council of ministers ( EU), its role in the mechanism of determination of SEM
  • Competence of Court of Justice of European Community and its role at formation of SEM, examples of significant practice of the Court.
  • Role of advisory authorities in the system of EU ( Economic a social committee, Region committee)

Assessment methods
Teaching will proceed in a form of lectures and tutorials following the outline of the course. The course will be finished by examination, which will take form of a written test. During the semester students will work out 1 POT (work corrected by tutor) and its evaluation will be included in the final classification.
