Course objectives
The aim of this course is to deepen students’ existing knowledge in all common sport disciplines, sport related topics while refining their reading, oral and written comprehension as well as reproduction in English. At the end of the course students are required to have reached level B2 of CEF. Successful graduates of this course will acquire a more advanced command of professional terminology in sport science, health, anatomy and various sport disciplines. Students will be trained to effectively deliver public speeches in the field of sport. Besides, the study will focus on practising more difficult grammatical phenomena as well as developing writing skills, including paragraph and academic writing.

Teaching methods
Language seminar: reading, listening, writing...
Assessment methods
The classes comprise practising reading, writing and speaking skills. Frequently used methods and procedures to reach these objectives are: for oral skills: practising of delivering presentations + their evaluation and analysis, class discussions, brainstorming activities, practising of giving instructions; for listening: selective listening, making notes from listening, listening for key words; for reading: finding key words in a text, skimming, scanning, checking understanding of a text(true/false etc.), making comments on the text; for writing: productive writing (e.g. writing a formal letter) + reproductive writing (e.g. making notes), academic writing (paragraph, summary etc.) The course is completed by a lecture on a chosen sport topic delivered by each student. The course is based on vast self-studies. All materials are also available in the interactive syllabi under the codes np926 and v2041.
