- Course objectives
- The course presents locomotion and function of the human body that is exposed to sports environment, sports activity, physical and psychical strain within sport, sport discipline and sports training. Both theoretical and practical pieces of knowledge from the undertaken courses, such as anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics, physiology, physiological strain, as well as social-science courses are synthesized in the course. They are subsequently developed in theoretical topics applied into the area of human body adaptability to various types of sports performances and physical strain. The goal of the course is to introduce the students to the basic principles and attitudes towards sports performance development and training through the individual parts of sports training, specifics of stimulation and motor skills development, physical skills, technology and management of the sports process, effects of sports training, as well as their diagnostics. At the end of this course students will be able to: a) define goals and objectives of sports training (ST), specify the results of ST b) explain and use basic terminology of ST: sports training, sports performance, efficiency, sports form, sports performance classification c) explain the process of human body adaptability to training impulses and to manage the performance development through adequate training impulses (specific, non-specific), to apply the general features of ST structure on specific needs of particular sports disciplines d) explain the structure of a training unit, to provide and implement individual physical-training programme and anticipate any unwanted overload, injury or pain of motor apparatus e) orientation in planning of ST (within the microcycle, mesocycle, macrocyckle witin long-term plans) f) analyse and specify sport – sports discipline and sports performance from the point of view of bioenergetics, biomechanics and psychology g) application and prediction of physiological and pathophysiological processes of reaction and adaptation of selected functional and organ systems on physical strain of sportsmen in relation to a sports discipline, to accept the limitation factors of fitness and efficiency, including their suggestibility through sports and physical activity h) to affect the health and functional state of human body, including psychical functions, through physical activity, within the prevention, diagnostics and therapy of motor apparatus defects i) create relevant background for a successful physical therapy rehabilitation j) provide professional consulting service to coaches and sportsmen and to act as a consultant, if needed
