Course objectives
The aim of the course is to apply the acquired knowledge in the overall management of the training process in the given sport specialization. To have knowledge of long-term planning of training cycles, to implement specific training units, to keep records and quantify volume indicators leading to maximum development of an athlete in a given sport specialization. Gain knowledge about the specifics (nutrition, types of injuries) in a given sport specialization. Gain skills in proper coaching and overall communication (athlete, parents, implementation team) in a given sport specialty.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- identify the structure of sport performance in a given sport specialisation;
- the annual training cycle (RTC) in a given sport specialization;
- plan, develop and conduct a training unit in a given sport specialisation in a given age category;
- plan, prepare and conduct a training cycle in a given sport specialisation in a given age category;
- analyse training and competition loads and identify critical moments leading to the development of an athlete in a given sport specialisation;
- optimally develop movement skills leading to the development or stabilisation of sport performance in a given sport specialisation;
-implement different forms of diagnostics and interpret and apply the results in practice in the given sport specialisation;
- explain the specifics of training (men, women) in a given sport specialisation, identify the development of the individual (children, youth) and create adequate training activities in a given sport specialisation;
- the basics of psychological preparation for a given sport specialization;
- perform didactic outcomes.
Syllabus
  • THEORY:
  • 1. Current trends and modern challenges of coaching in a given sport specialisation.
  • 2. Rules and their current status and development (IOC) of the sport specialisation.
  • 3. Talent assessment and formation, endogenous and exogenous factors, talent selection (example of real selection) in a given sport specialty.
  • 4. Applying load forms appropriate to the (training, competition) period in the sports specialisation.
  • 5. Implementation of specific tests appropriate to the sport specialisation.
  • PRACTICE:
  • 1. Applying the determinants of sport performance in a given sport specialisation.
  • 2. Application of technical and tactical objectives in a given sport specialisation.
  • 3. Application of forms of warm-up and pre-training activation in a given sport specialisation based on the construction of a training unit.
  • 4. Application of forms of compensatory exercises appropriate to the sport specialisation.
