Course objectives
After successful completion of the course "Athletics III will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of techniques and rules of hurdless, long jump, high jump, shot put and middle distance running
- Apply the correct technique of hurdless, shot put, long jump high jump (flop)
- Analyze (and critically evaluate) the most common fault in technique to implement the above mentioned event
- To complete the athletic pentathlon at the required level

  • Running and jumping and throwing drills
  • Improvement of hurdless technique
  • Development of running speed
  • development of endurance (fartlek methodes)
  • Improvement of jumping technique (high and long)
  • Improvement of shot put performanceshot technique
  • Pentathlon competition

Teaching methods
Exercise at the athletic stadium and self-teaching materials.
Assessment methods
Credits are awarded based on student out successfully passing the final written test and active participation in practical teaching.
The test consists of 10 closed questions (3 variants answer to one question) rated 10 points. The successful completion is necessary to get at least 7 points. The content of the test are rules, history and technique discussed athletic disciplines, especially after multicontests. The student must actively (trains) complete at least 90% practical training and manage the performance requirements of athletic pentathlon.

The practical realization of the pentathlon will be conducted in accordance with applicable rules of athletics. Scoring will be based on current scoring tables.
