Course objectives
The course provides basic knowledge on alternative massage techniques from the perspective of a masseur and massaged. Comparison of the effects of alternative techniques with clasiccal type of massage. Upon graduation student will be able perform the selected massage techniques.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student is able to:
1. Define general principles and benefits of selected alternative massage techniques
2. List the indications and contraindications of the selected alternative massage techniques
3. Choose the right massage strokes in relation to the aim of the massage
4. Discuss about the selection of selected massage strokes
5. Demonstrate individual massage strokes
6. Practice selected massage
7. Assess the condition of the organism before and after massage

  • . Selected types of alternative massages (lymphatic massage, craniosacral massage, Shiatsu, Thai massage, foot reflexology, ayurvedic msassage and more. . Comparison the effects of alternative and traditional massage, explaining the diversity of approaches and techniques. . Lymphatic massage (history, effects, contraindications) .
