- Course objectives
- The goal of the course is to acquaint students with the role of intelligence services in the process of formulation and implementation of foreign policy by states.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students will be able:
- orient themselves in the terminology of intelligence;
- understand main methods of collection of intelligence;
- learn about intelligence services of world powers and other selected states; - Syllabus
- 1-2) Introduction. Intelligence in IR in the bipolar world and after the end of the Cold War. Czech intelligence community. 3-4) Selected intelligence terminology.Intelligence cycle. OSINT, SIGINT a IMINT. Analysis of intelligence outputs. 5-6) HUMINT. Information operations. Secret operations. 7-8) Intelligence community of selected states: USA, Russian Federation, France, United Kingdom, FRG, Israel. 9-10) Analysis of selected cases of intelligence operations with impact on international relations. 11-12) Analysis of selected cases of intelligence operations with impact on international relations.
