Course objectives
A) Sociological presentation of soccer as an arena of modern culture and as a significant part of everyday life and political experience, as a space of articulation of ethnic, class or gendered relations and also as a relatively autonomous economic, legal, and social system; B) By the same virtue virtue, the course aims at illustrating the analytical reach and strategies of sociological analysis in general
Learning outcomes
Students will learn to understand football as a modern phenomenon in its historical and contemporary forms; especially are students led to understand and analyze football in its multiple dimensions: social, cultural, political, economic, legal, urban, etc.
