- ZURd0002 Theoretical framework of dissertation I

- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- The course follows up on the course Theoretical Framework of Dissertation I. The course is dedicated to enhancing the student’s work on the theoretical chapter of their doctoral thesis. The course is based on student self-directed study of the theoretical and empirical literature in the field defined by the topic of their doctoral thesis. Tasks in the course focus on (1) the formulation of a consistent concept for the theoretical chapter of the dissertation and (2) the formulation of the theoretical problem of the dissertation. At the end of the course, the student will produce a draft of the theoretical chapter of their doctoral thesis.
- Learning outcomes
- The course develops learning outcomes No. 2, 4, 5 and 6.
- Syllabus
- The course has the form of individual consultations with the supervisor combined with self-study. Building on self-directed research and readings of the relevant literature, the student produces a draft of the theoretical chapter of their thesis. To complete the course, the student participates in consultations with the supervisor on a regular basis and submits a draft of the thesis’s theoretical chapter.
