- Course objectives
- The course is the basis for the preparation of future creative producers based on the usual practice at Czech Radio. Under the guidance of the creative producers of the Czech Radio, the student goes all the way from the topic to the submission of a complete project to the program board of the Czech Radio. In addition to the dramaturgical level of the creative producer's work, the student also learns the necessary production level, such as thorough production planning, financing, marketing and the like. The goal is to get to know and experience the work of a creative producer at a professional level. The most successful students may be invited to work closely with Czech Radio. The course can become a good guide for students who are planning a project-based master's thesis.
- Learning outcomes
- After a theoretical introduction with a presentation of the usual practice at Czech Radio, each student will receive as a starting assignment for their independent work a real topic let's say a dramaturgical series submitted at Czech Radio (approx. one page of A4 text) and under the guidance of experienced producers during the semester he/she will develop a comprehensive detailed project (approx. 15 pages of A4 text). He/she will further transform this project into a presentation, which he/she will present (at the final closings during the exam period) to Czech Radio producers and teachers, as if it were the program board of the Czech Radio itself, with the aim of convincing them that this project is the right thing for that particular radio station. So the student will do exactly what the creative producers of Czech Radio do.
- Syllabus
- Block teaching.
- First face-to-face meeting at the beginning of the semester - theoretical introduction, presentation of creative producers of Czech Radio, assignment of independent work.
- Second face-to-face meeting at the beginning of the third third of the semester - consultation of ongoing projects with creative producers of Czech Radio.
- The third face-to-face meeting during the exam period - cloisters with the creative producers of Czech Radio ("program council").
