Course objectives
The aim of the seminar is to familiarise students with the development of the Czech feuilleton of the 19th and 20th centuries. Students analyse the feuilletons written by important authors (for example Jan Neruda, Karel Čapek, Karel Poláček, Eduard Bass, Ludvík Vaculík, or Rudolf Křesťan), also with respect to their future journalist practice.

  • Analysis of the work of selected feuilletonists: life and work, feuilleton writing, and inspiration for contemporary journalism.
