Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to:
Understand psychopatological human behavior.
Explain basic psychopatological phenomena and terms, especially along with particular psyche components.
Understand disturbed functioning of human psyche in general context.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction, basic terms, limits and concepts of the domain. Basic questions of normality and pathology. Preview of etology of mental disorders. Perception disorders. 2. Thinking disorders, delusions. Intelect and memory disorders. 3. Emotionality, characteristics and disorders. Drives and instincts, disturbances of. Attention disorders. 4. Consciousness and its disorders. Orientation disturbances, volition and conduct disorders. 5. Psychopathological syndromes, basics of psychiatric nosology. Organic disorders with mental manifestation. Personality disorders. Substance abuse induced disorders, dependence. 6. Psychotic disorders, schizophreny. Mood disorders. Neurotic disorders. Revision, casuistics.
